The growing strength of the Australian beef cattle lot feeding sector can be seen in the numbers. The March quarter feedlot industry survey figures confirmed a new record number of cattle on feed at $1.27 million. However it remains to be seen whether this trend continues or whether we will see a temporary peak with recently rising grain prices and stubbornly high cattle prices tempering demand for feedlot space.
