We are proud to announce that the Clean Energy Regulator has registered our soil carbon project with the Emissions Reduction Fund under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011. At Smithfield Cattle Company we are committed to the sustainability of our business, industry and environment. We attack environmental sustainability by using solar to reduce our reliance on electricity from the grid, reduce green house gas emissions through feed additives and we aim to sequester as much carbon as possible into the soil we own. We think the regenerative agriculture practices that we deploy to sequester carbon are simply part of our moral obligation to be responsible custodians of our land.
